The monthly magazine podcast for the discerning film nerd. James Adamson is a slightly obsessive armchair fan, giving you his take on the world of cinema. So are his co hosts: James Adamson, his imaginatively named son, and Alan Bayles, a sci fi author, fellow film nerd and fellow Sunderland fan. As well as a look at news, new releases and how we’re fitting in movie watching with our busy exciting lives, we look into classic films we haven't seen yet and overlooked hidden gems you need to see, ask remakes to justify their existence or be wiped from history and offer parole hearings to bad films that need to be remade to fix their flaws.

The Adamsons are back with a (mostly) sci fi themed episode of the monthly magazine style podcast for the discerning film nerd. This is Reel 1 of 2, packed with features for your waiting ears.
Our monthly round up includes reviews of new films Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Help and Decision to Leave as well as a look at news from the world of film and what new releases are coming out; our continuing project 2022: A Kubrick Odyssey looks at Full Metal Jacket; our Classic is Godard's new wave sci fi head-scratcher Alphaville; our Hidden Gem is Connery space western Outland; the One That Got Away looks at David Fincher and Morgan Freeman's unsuccessful attempt to adapt Arthur C Clarke's Rendezvous with Rama; and our Remake Hatewatch asks why they bothered to make the updated Keanu version of The Day The Earth Stood Still. We also discuss a sci fi film that we think *should* be remade to get it right this time.
Reel 2 is also available to download now.
