The monthly magazine podcast for the discerning film nerd. James Adamson is a slightly obsessive armchair fan, giving you his take on the world of cinema. So are his co hosts: James Adamson, his imaginatively named son, and Alan Bayles, a sci fi author, fellow film nerd and fellow Sunderland fan. As well as a look at news, new releases and how we’re fitting in movie watching with our busy exciting lives, we look into classic films we haven't seen yet and overlooked hidden gems you need to see, ask remakes to justify their existence or be wiped from history and offer parole hearings to bad films that need to be remade to fix their flaws.

The Adamsons are back with another packed episode of their monthly magazine-style podcast for film nerds. This first real contains all your favourite regular features, including: The monthly round up of film news and reviews of new releases we saw at the cinema including: Candyman, Free Guy, The Suicide Squad; The Year of the Carpenter, which arrives at September's entry - the wonderful Big Trouble In Little China; Classics and Recommended where we give in to fan pressure and talk about 1992's My Cousin Vinny; The Hidden Gem which is Norwegian horror comedy Troll Hunter; The One That Got Away, which tells the story of Michael Mann's Gates of Fire which would have been a much better version than 300 of the legendary story of Spartan warriors; And the Remake Hatewatch, in which we wonder why anyone bothered to remake Hitchcock's Rebecca into a glossy tame Netflix "Original." Reel 2 is also available to download now.
