The monthly magazine podcast for the discerning film nerd. James Adamson is a slightly obsessive armchair fan, giving you his take on the world of cinema. So are his co hosts: James Adamson, his imaginatively named son, and Alan Bayles, a sci fi author, fellow film nerd and fellow Sunderland fan. As well as a look at news, new releases and how we’re fitting in movie watching with our busy exciting lives, we look into classic films we haven't seen yet and overlooked hidden gems you need to see, ask remakes to justify their existence or be wiped from history and offer parole hearings to bad films that need to be remade to fix their flaws.

The Adamsons return with their podcast for the enlightened film nerd, in its familiar old school format: in the style of the old film mags you used to buy, packed with great features for your waiting ears, and divided into two reels with an intermission so you can stop and buy a choc ice in the foyer.
This is the first reel of this month's episode, featuring a round up of the month's film news, a look at new release Those Who Wish Me Dead and old favourite Near Dark; The Year of the Carpenter with June's entry In The Mouth of Madness, and why Atlantis The Lost Empire is a lost Disney classic. Our Classics and Recommended feature looking at 1971 cop drama The French Connection; an appeal for more people to watch the Hidden Gem Dredd; The One That Got Away about George Miller's cancelled Justice League project; and a Remake Hatewatch of two Robin Hood films - the 2010 Russell Crowe effort and Taron Egerton's 2018 abomination.
