Issue 52 of the monthly magazine podcast for the discerning film nerd continues with the Remakes Tribunal, where we put bad filmmaking on trial. First up, we put a remake in the dock and ask whether it should have been made. This month for our 30th anniversary special it's The Getaway, the 1994 attempt to reboot a Steve McQueen 70s classic with Alec Baldwin. Then we offer a parole hearing to a film that failed the first time and ask if a remake would fix its problems. The 1994 film up for a reprieve is the Sylvester Stallone/Sharon Stone action vehicle The Specialist.
The first two parts of Issue 52 are out now: Double Reel Monthly and a 1994 special edition of Classics and Hidden Gems. Next week we close out the issue with a Spotlight episode looking at Danny Boyle's Trainspotting.
